Obsidian is a stone that is a very dark glossy black. Obsidian occurs when lava is rapidly cooled and is also known as Volcanic Glass. Since Obsidian is a naturally occurring product, it won’t lose its color or texture. It will work well in all scales of model railroads. Use larger particle sizes as an accent boulder in a doll house or farm landscape, or as an obstacle in a war game. Use smaller particle sizes for a black sand beach, or roadway.
