Kato N Scale Pullman Gallery Bi-Level 4-Window Commuter Coaches and Cab Cars are based on commuter cars which continue to be a favorites of many transit agencies throughout the United States and Canada. These 1950s-built prototype passenger cars are still in use in 2020 on Chicago's Metra, often seen running in consists with modern 1990s and 2000s-built Nippon Sharyo cars. The design made its debut on the Chicago & North Western railroad for their Chicago area commuter service in the 1950s, but other railroads also adopted the bi-level designs following the success of the Pullman-Standard cars.
